With a tape, measure the area of your planned lawn.  Seeding a lawn requires 5 Lbs. of seed per 1000 square feet.  Often a 85% bluegrass seed mixed with 15% ryegrass seed (Advantage Bluegrass) works well when seeding.  Ryegrass will germinate faster than the bluegrass which results in protection for the bluegrass seedlings.  For heavily shaded areas a blend of bluegrass, ryegrass and fescue (Classic Blend) is recommended.
