Juniper Landscape Timbers & Poles
DURABLE . . .
Juniper timbers used in an
organic vineyard.
Made of Juniper heartwood and sapwood, Juniper timbers and poles
are more durable than products made from other wood species. Aromatic
Juniper offers insect resistant characteristics similar to its Red Cedar cousin but
lasts more than 30 yearslonger than any other untreated western species.
ROT RESISTANCE . . .
Juniper is naturally more resistance to decay than Redwood, Western Red Cedar
or Lodgepole Pine. Western Juniper has been used for decades for fence posts,
poles, and corrals because it is extremely durable and resistant
to rot.
STRONG . . .Nail Withdrawal Strength is the amount of force required to pull a nail from
Juniper post and pole fence.
the wood. A low nail withdrawal value would indicate that nails may pop up
easily if the wood shrinks or swells or that nailed joints may be excessively
weak. Table values for species other than Western Juniper are estimated
using a formula from the USDAs Wood Handbook.
Western Juniper 197 psi
Coastal Douglas Fir 184 psi
Eastern Red Cedar 175 psi
Red Alder 124 psi
Ponderosa Pine 117 psi
Incense Cedar 96 psi
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY . . .
Because it quickly consumes large amounts of water, Juniper threatens
plant and animal life within native forests and grasslands. Therefore, using
Juniper timbers and poles helps to not only prevent waste, but also
preserve vital ecosystems.
ALL-NATURAL AND NON-TREATED . . .
All-natural and non-treated, Juniper timbers and poles are sustainable
and renewable products that are environmentally safe for all your landscaping
or agricultural projects.
