 Most logs and of
course bark is harvested off of private timberland. Some timber
owners harvest mostly big trees with thick bark and some timber owners
harvest mostly small trees with very thin
bark. Most mills we are associated with process all sizes of Douglas
Fir and Hemlock logs. In the old days, since
more logs on average yielded thicker bark, bark quality was more consistent. Today
we must live with more of a variance in quality.
